Lake Scanno (Aq) – The Lake of Love …heart-shaped

This scenic lake north of the Abruzzo National Park is the largest natural body of water in the region.

How to get to the panorama to admire the shape of the heart

The Sentiero del Cuore starts from Lake Scanno, it is a beautiful road suitable for everyone and a panoramic point that will allow you to admire from the top of the hill where the hermitage of Sant’Egidio stands, the village of Scanno and the beautiful view of the heart shaped lake

Follow the stretch of SS 479 until you take an uphill path, after a short stop at a beautiful panoramic point, follow the road in the woods, towards the ridge of the Montagna Grande.

At a certain point, follow the dirt road that will lead you to the village of Scanno. A small stretch of road that enters a grove that will lead to the Hermitage of S. Egidio.

From here, you go up towards another wooded area which will take you to a small ledge where you can see the heart-shaped lake. The route is 2.1 kilometers long and has a height difference of 289 metres
