Cultural and Exhibition Project
The MAXXI L’Aquila is a place of discussion and interaction: in-depth programmes, talks, workshops, educational projects and training activities accompany the various exhibitions with a continuous and lively exchange with the territory.
A crossroads of communication, meetings and collaboration between expressive languages, the MAXXI L’Aquila is configured as a hub capable of weaving networks at different levels between the protagonists of the contemporary and between the subjects operating in the multifaceted artistic and scientific system( galleries, foundations, associations, other museums and research institutes)giving voice to the excellence of national and international creativity.
The MAXXI L’Aquila aims to create a dialogue between Visual Arts, Performance, Photography and Architecture by questioning contemporaneity and to realize its institutional mission and its cultural and social vocation.
Alongside site-specific projects, the rooms of Palazzo Ardinghelli host works from the MAXXI Collection with a program of temporary exhibitions of Art, Architecture and Photography.

A hub of contemporary creativity in a baroque jewel.
MAXXI L’Aquila was born at Palazzo Ardinghelli, a laboratory dedicated to artistic and cultural production open to the territory and its energies. A space where the MAXXI art, architecture and photography collections come to life together with temporary exhibitions, in-depth programs and educational projects.
