The Park is home to numerous faunal and floral species exclusive to this area, as well as the most representative animals of the Apennines such as the Wolf, the Abruzzo Chamois, the Bear, the Golden Eagle or the Short-toed Eagle which strongly evoke a primordial and wild nature

The geographical position, the height reached by the mountains, as well as the different geology of the reliefs: limestone and dolomite on the Gran Sasso and on the Gemelli Mountains, sandstone and marl on the Laga Mountains, determine an extraordinary richness of animal and plant species, as well as a variety of truly unique ecosystems and landscapes.
