Extraordinary emotional impact. Representations so realistic that they move generations. Children are fascinated by the liveliness of the animated scenes, while adults relive the memories.

The “Le Genti della Laga” Ethnographic Museum and Nativity Scene is a museum dedicated to the rural and artisanal culture of the local people of the Laga mountains.

Born from the passion of Gino Di Benedetto, guardian of rural memory, the museum is the result of over thirty years of research among old farmhouses, abandoned villages, and the countryside of Abruzzo.

Considered an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind place, highly appreciated for its ability to revive and understand the history and traditions of Abruzzo, suitable for all ages.
The exhibition is divided into three spaces:
– Life-Size Museum Section: settings from the early 1900s (up to the 1950s), with reconstructed domestic environments, furnishings, tools, tube radios, rudimentary televisions, and agricultural tools.

– Animated Miniatures (1:4-5 scale): miniature reproductions of scenes of rural life and traditional crafts, accompanied by animations with working mechanisms (e.g., harvesting and motorized threshing), sounds, and captions in local dialect.

– a famous section dedicated to the ethnographic nativity scene, which uses miniature figures and objects to narrate the nativity scene and traditional rural life with music and special effects.

The museum contains numerous typical objects of Abruzzo’s rural culture, such as agricultural tools, artisanal instruments, traditional clothing, and settings from ancient workshops.
