MAV, Virtual Experience between the characters and the history of Herculaneum and Pompeii

A dive into the past through a multisensory experience, to know and discover in detail the historical realities of Herculaneum and Pompeii before the Vesuvian eruption of 79 AD.

The Virtual Archaeological Museum (MAV) of Herculaneum is an innovative cultural institution that combines Archaeology and Technology to offer a unique immersive experience.

Thanks to augmented reality the characters who made the history of Pompeii come back to life and who in Herculaneum, in the innovative MAV 5.0 Museum come back to life and talk to visitors.

Through Virtual reconstructions, Holograms and Interactive installations, the Museum recreates the daily life of the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Over seventy multimedia installations allow tourists to better understand the main archaeological areas of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Baia, Stabia and Capri.

In each room there is also a Qr code path for in-depth information on each topic and incredible virtual reality walks among the reconstructions of Herculaneum.

A museum that offers the possibility of “seeing” and “feeling” the Antiquity and the splendor of a Civilizationwith the most modern technologies available.
