The Marine Protected Area “Gaiola Submerged Park” represents a place of great environmental and cultural value. A conservation area located in the Gulf of Naples which takes its name from the two islets of Gaiola in front of Posillipo.

Known for its rich marine biodiversity, favored by the geomorphological complexity of the seabed and the circulation of marine currents. These conditions have allowed the establishment of numerous marine biological communities typical of the Mediterranean.

AQUAVISION TOUR
electric traction boat from the Gaiola Underwater Park. Equipped with a transparent bottom for underwater vision, it allows visitors to observe the seabed of the Park while staying comfortably dry.

PAUSILYPON ENVIRONMENTAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
a fascinating place that combines history, archeology and nature, offering visitors a unique experience full of discoveries.
Of great historical and naturalistic interest located on the Posillipo hill in Naples. The park takes its name from the ancient Roman villa “Pausilypon“, which means “place that stops all worries”, built in the 1st century BC. and belonged to Vedius Pollione, a rich Roman knight.

It includes numerous archaeological remains, including the Seiano Cave, a tunnel and main entrance approximately 700 meters long which connects Bagnoli with the Gaiola valley dating back to Roman times and used as an anti-aircraft shelter during the Second World War.

Inside the park, in addition to the remains of the villa, it is possible to admire the Theater and the Odeon, structures used for shows and entertainment, as well as the Palace of the Spirits.
Today it represents an important tourist-cultural area for the city of Naples, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the history and nature of the place through guided tours.

Beach
one of the most beautiful stretches of sea, a tidy and clean beach thanks to the staff of the Marine Protected Area. There are bathrooms and the public bathing area is cleaned daily and an access control service is activated.
Open to the public, the Free Bathing Area is accessible only by reservation and until a maximum number of people is reached

Botanical Garden
Every spring is a spectacle of colors and scents. External spaces, recovered and reclaimed, have been transformed into a botanical garden with plant species typical of the Mediterranean scrub to aid educational activities on the environment

The little Library of the Sea
A small “sea-themed” collection available to Park users, who will be able to take a book free of charge for a few hours to browse by the sea immersed in relaxation and nature.
Kayak
A paradise to enjoy with a kayak. Before setting out to sea to reach Gaiola, inform yourself about the current legislation, to find out what you can and cannot do in a Marine Protected Area, where you can go and where you cannot go for environmental protection or safety reasons

Gaioletta shuttle
Free transport service from the city point to the Park and vice versa with priority for elderly people and families with children

The special Marine Umbrellas, available free of charge to swimmers in the Park, with priority for elderly people and families with children. Each umbrella depicts a Mediterranean marine animal, which is detailed in the relevant “identity card” inside each umbrella.
Access to the Gaiola Underwater Park is free, upon reservation
The center is also equipped with a Welcome Centre, a conference room, a small Educational Museum, a Mediterranean Aquarium, a changing room for underwater activities and a scientific laboratory for the biological monitoring of the area.
