From the top of Monte Belvedere you can admire the wonderful Panorama and the ruins of the ancient medieval Castle
Monte Belvedere (1139 meters above sea level) is located a few kilometers above Querciola, and is easily reachable either on foot or by mountain bike or e-bike (expert cyclists). You can arrive by car in Calcinara (just above Querciola), park and then continue on foot first along a stretch of forest road and then along the path that will lead you right to the mountain (CAI paths 345 and 157). It is also possible to take the CAI 345 path from the Corona area, the entrance is located just before the living area.

The Belvedere castle was built in 1227 in a strategic position on Mount Cimbriano (subsequently the mountain was also called Belvedere) to curb the threats of aggression from Frederick II. The ruins of the castle can still be seen, from which it was possible to reconstruct its plan. During the age of the Lordships the castle lost its importance, until it was completely abandoned.
Monte Belvedere had renewed importance as a strategic point during the Second World War.
However, Monte Belvedere is also important from the point of view of local folklore: it is in fact here that according to an ancient legend the Devil appeared in Oliva.
