A large Village Festival, dedicated to sharing, the Romagna rural tradition and spending time together over joyful food and drink.
It is held in San Giovanni in Compito (a hamlet of Savignano sul Rubicone), usually on the first Sunday after Easter or in spring.

A popular tradition of Romagna, especially typical of the Cesena area.
In the Romagnol dialect, “ligaza” (or “ligàza,” “legaccia”) literally means “tie” or “knotted handkerchief.”
Historically, it was the checked handkerchief (often a kitchen towel) in which people wrapped their packed lunches or snacks when they went to work in the fields or away from home (especially after the war).

A neighborhood festival or modern community festival that revives this ancient custom in a convivial way:
Everyone brings something to eat from home (a bit like the American “potluck” or the Romagna “cena portà”)
Long tables are set in the square, in the park, or on the street.
We eat together, People socialize, drink wine, and listen to folk music.
There are often stands selling piadina, porchetta, macaroni, cured meats, etc.
Sometimes there are also vintage car/motorcycle rallies, children’s entertainment, masses, bonfires, or other events.
