We are in Mutonia, among the masterpieces of the Mutoid Waste Company, Artistic Community. Open-air Art Gallery and Sculpture Park.

Their work consists in the use of components taken from inorganic waste such as iron, plastic, rubber, aluminum and copper, assembled to create very particular sculptures.
About 30 people live there, mainly English or Italians. They are not only artists but also professionals in the fields of mechanics or information technology as their creations testify.

Some of Mutonia’s works are inspired by the Egyptians and the Mayans, others by Mecha, Robots with dimensions larger than human ones usually controlled by a pilot inside.

Furthermore, Local and foreign artists contributed to enriching and enhancing the spaces with Street art. There are works by Ericailcane, Gola, Andreco, Dem, Moneyless, Gio Pistone and many others.

Their story began in the 1990s, when they were called to participate in the Theatre Festival and settled near an old abandoned quarry on the Marecchia river.

Mutonia is a free Tourist Park which is approximately 2 km from the centre. It is possible to visit it from 9.30 am to sunset also by renting a bicycle for free at the tourist information office.
Once past the stadium the road signs are easy to follow.

You cannot enter by car, but there is a small clearing just before the entrance. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
You can take photos but always respecting the privacy of the inhabitants.
