Tourist center thanks to the beauty of its waters and the wildlife that orbits the lake. In summer there is a bathing establishment with a beach area, nautical equipment such as boats, pedal boats or canoes, as well as games for children and a windsurfing school.
Tributaries which, thanks to their purity, give the waters an intense blue-green hue. Clear and cold waters that turn to ice in the long winter season and in the middle of its waters a characteristic small island appears, which paints an enchanted landscape.
EXCURSION
An itinerary that runs along Lake Predil and leads to Cave del Predil. Suitable for the whole family. You pass along a mule track and cross beech and fir forests, descending a scree from which you can admire the Cinque Punte group from afar. Along the way you can admire a splendid waterfall, active in summer and frozen in winter, a natural destination for ice climbing.
THE LEGEND
Legend has it that once upon a time there was a small village in place of the lake. The inhabitants were insensitive people and during a cold winter night they refused to host a woman and a child who had come from far away. Only a poor family offered them a roof and showered the mother and child with attention. The next morning the lake had covered the entire town, except for a small island with the house of the hospitable family, while the woman and the child had disappeared.
A splendid walk around the banks allows you to fully experience the nature of the Julian Alps, also crossing paths with the history of these places which, like at the fort Gola Aibl, it is not just memory but a tangible reality of the past!
