BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES
Due to their innumerable therapeutic properties, the waters of Ficoncella are indicated in the treatment of various diseases: dermatitis, arthritis and problems of gastric origin, respiratory and urinary system diseases.

They are also very effective for healing wounds and carrying out inhalations. Next to one of the tanks at the entrance, just to the right, you can inhale thanks to the fumes that come out of the nearby cave.

The temperature varies from 50 to 60 degrees centigrade, depending on the tank into which the water flows.

It is a sulphurous water, characterized however by the absence of strong sulfuric odors. The heat reached by the water allows a reaction of the calcium sulphate which releases the sulfuric acid and other salts, guaranteeing a beneficial, hydrating but at the same time stimulating action. The waters are in fact defined as slightly alkaline calcium sulphate.

TIPS
The first time you dive into these waters, don’t overdo it! The strong heat could cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. So start with a slow immersion in one of the less hot tanks; stay for a few minutes and then re-emerge.

Take a break, take the opportunity to do some inhalations or enjoy the sun lying on your sun lounger. Try again after a while to immerse yourself in a tub with warmer water but always be careful not to immerse yourself too quickly!

The free spas of Ficoncella are convenient at all times of the year, considering that, being little known even among enthusiasts of thermal relaxation, there is never a large influx of people that makes the stay unpleasant.

On the other hand, since it is hyperthermal water, a bath is pleasant even in the dead of winter.

The only thing to keep in mind is to bring a bathrobe and slippers. Furthermore, you should always make sure that the fenced site is open to visitor access before leaving

Even though these are free spas for entry you must pay a small entrance ticket at a very modest price
