The park hosts a Botanical collection with hundreds of exotic species, animals of around 150 species including Reptiles, Mammals and Birds and areas such as those of Asiatic Lions or Tigers .
The Bioparco is an active promoter of biodiversity conservation and actively participates in safeguarding populations in nature and improving living conditions within zoos.
THE ANIMALS OF THE BIOPARK
The Biopark is home to around 1200 animals of approximately 150 species including Reptiles, Mammals and Birds. They are all animals born at the Biopark or at other zoological facilities.
THE PLANTS
The Biopark is spread over an area of ​​17 hectares in one of the most evocative botanical contexts in the city. In the park there is a rich Arboreal Collection with characteristic plants of the Mediterranean area, such as the Holm oak, the stone pine and the cork oak, but also exotic species strong> such as the many species of Palms, Magnolias, the different species of Cedar and Camphor.
The use of plants today plays a fundamental role in zoos: in the design of new exhibits we try to reconstruct the original habitat of the hosted animal, using plants similar to or native to its areas of origin .
Within the Biopark, for example, areas such as those of Asiatic Lions or Tigers have been reconstructed with great attention, trying to reproduce the environment of origin of the species present.
Whatever the season, you cannot fail to notice during a visit to the Biopark the vegetation rich in attractive and unusual species that frames the visit route of the animal species.
BIRTHDAY AT THE BIOPARK
At Bioparco, birthdays are always full of surprises!
Among lions, hippos and giraffes, children will be able to play, learn and have fun.
You can choose from different options, themed adventures, treasure hunts, orienteering courses, to make your birthday a beastly day!
The parties are aimed at children aged 4 to 12.
It is possible to organize parties lasting 3 hours or 2 hours, depending on the type chosen, with the participation of 2 entertainers for the entire duration of the party.
