At the Fattoria di Valentino to smell the scent of camphor or lemon verbena, visit the Hortus conclusus and play at recognizing the vegetables and medicinal herbs by their fragrance: rosemary, thyme, mint, pennyroyal, basil, bay leaves, etc.
The lake area with ducks and carp, the forest area with vegetation belts typical of the volcanic territory, the flowerbeds of scents and colours, the hedge with a biological function, the Hortus conclusus with gravel paths, the pergola for the educational activities, the little beach with the Palmetum, the picnic area and Treno Nino, the farm’s little train.
Free workshop for children: The Castelli Romani forest
Only for those who book lunch in the restaurant, the Fattoria di Valentino organizes the free workshop “The forest of the Castelli Romani”.
Together with the children and their parents, taking advantage of the beautiful days, we will go to the Park, all the way down, where the farm’s grove is!
Along the way we will immerse ourselves in the fantastic colors of the autumn season and collect the leaves of the various trees and then create, always outdoors, a craft together with the children which they will then take home…
We will discover that the Castelli Romani forest was formed after the eruption of the Lazio volcano and according to very specific vegetation bands which we will then transfer on a card with the volcano drawn on it, where we will attach the collected leaves.
Artificial lake
with a lovely wooden bridge that crosses it, it allows you to enjoy all this more closely.
Nino Train
one of the funniest attractions in the Park, certainly. A funny big yellow face with sweet blue eyes will be at the head of the tractor which, equipped with yellow, green and blue wagons, will accompany the children around the entire Park.
This way of going through the farm will give the children, guided by the entertainer, the opportunity to sing, guess, and learn by playing lots of information about trees, plants, fruit, organic farming, cultivation techniques, animals…
A slide equipped with the third Treno Nino carriage also makes it suitable for disabled children.
Picnic area
For an outing with the family, alone or as a couple, bringing your own lunch and using the outdoor tables or booking to enjoy the typical and traditional cuisine of the farmhouse in the dining room.
Flowerbed
of multiple plants formed by the Mediterranean pine, the Viburnum, the Abelia, the Spirea, the Berberis Thumberrghis, the Weigelia “Bristol Ruby”, the flowering Dogwood, the Pacific Dogwood, the Norway Maple, the Red Oak, the Peony and Holly, etc.
