Four intense days with a rich program offering entertainment, sports and entertainment. Nine districts will battle on the shore and on the water, presenting themselves to the town before the race, with the evocative torchlight procession at night.
The medieval village is invaded by the historical procession in traditional clothes.
This is followed by the dinner with the districts, the drawing of the starting buoys and the lowering of the Drappellone, inspired by the legend of Hercules (it is said that Lake Vico was born from a blow of a club on the ground by the Greek hero), and the Miss Vico beauty contest.
THE TOrchlight Procession – The magical evening par excellence
Boats decorated and set up where ingenuity and creativity reign supreme, the coastline in celebration, clubs and restaurants full for a great open-air show.
THE REGATTAS AND THE VICO BOAT PALIO
From the morning we will see the underclassmen and women’s crews in the water in three exciting regattas that offer very strong emotions every year.
There will also be space for the “first oars”, the very young people engaged in a game of boats.
In the evening it will be time for the sixth battle, that of the Palio on 2460 meters, the toughest race of the warriors… the one that fuels the beating heart of this great beautiful celebration.
Nine crews, corresponding to as many Ronciglione districts, will compete with rowing boats made specifically for the regatta, all absolutely identical.
The nautical race takes place over a distance of 2400 meters in a rowing field which develops on the Ronciglio side of the lake, within 70 meters from the shore.
