The Borgio Verezzi Caves offer a tourist route that winds for about 800 meters inside large rooms, among stalactites, pipes, drapes, columns and transparent lakes.
The thousand shades of color make them among the most colorful caves in Italy.

The Borgio Verezzi Caves (also known as grotte Valdemino) are a complex of karst cavities located in Borgio Verezzi, in the province of Savona.
Known for being the most colorful in Italy thanks to the presence of various minerals that create a rich polychromy with shades of white, yellow and red.

The tourist route extends for about 800 meters through large rooms, with enormous blocks detached from the vault in remote eras.

Guided tours are available every day and allow visitors to admire the natural concretions, such as Stalactites, Stalagmites and Crystalline Lakes, which give the environment a fantastic atmosphere.

Also of extraordinary importance are the Bone Finds found in various parts of the cavity. Dating back to between 500,000 and 750,000 years ago, they include remains of now extinct varieties of animals adapted to living in hot climates (rhinoceros, elephant, tiger, crocodile, macaque, turtle…) and cold climates (bear, mammoth, deer, ibex, horse…), testifying to the alternation between glacial and non-glacial periods that characterized the last two million years of life on our planet.

Descent in the dark
Visitors, equipped with a head torch, will follow the guide on the tour of the caves, with the lights off: in the footsteps of the first speleologists and discoverers of the cave (then equipped only with candles) they will experience an exciting adventure using another point of view and discover the colors, flashes and shadows cast by the natural concretions that distinguish the caves of Borgio Verezzi, the most colorful of Italy.
Accessible to all, but not recommended for people with walking problems or claustrophobia, despite the rooms being very large.
