It is one of the most anticipated and colorful events of the summer that animates Recco with its splendid fireworks shows, fireworks, religious celebrations, gastronomic stands in the various neighborhoods, music and much more.

For an entire year, the seven historic districts (Bastia, Collodari, Liceto, Ponte, San Martino, Spiaggia and Verzemma) work to organize the fireworks festival on the occasion of the N.S. of Suffrage (Patroness of Recco)
The results of so many efforts are all concentrated in the two evening fireworks shows on the 7th and 8th, in the daytime fireworks show in the Verzemma district (8 September) and in the fireworks of the ancient men who greet the Virgin by renewing the ancient tradition.

In addition to the fireworks, there is no shortage of collateral events. Dozens of stalls and gastronomic stands arrive in the city from the neighborhoods, which are located along the main streets.

The celebrations involve the entire city which for the occasion is divided into seven neighborhoods with ancient origins dating back to the beginning of the last century. The solemn coronation of the “Suffragina” took place on 8 September 1824 by Cardinal Lambruschini, but the people of Recco have always venerated her as the Patron Saint and Protector of Recco.

On 8 September at 3.30am the districts greet the birth of the Madonna with the traditional cannon shots at the end of which the dawn mass is sanctified.
It is an opportunity that returns to pay homage once again to the tradition supported by the Ligurian Riviera, to the history of the town, to the religious beliefs and to the desire to have fun in the popular atmosphere.
