Relive the emotions of the past with the largest medieval historical re-enactment in the city! The traditional event annually fills the Falcone d’Italia with dozens of re-enactors, with engaging performances and initiatives for all ages.

Meeting of Traditions, History, Sports, Games and Culture through re-enactment; the Castle of Brescia will return to the Middle Ages and you will be able to walk through the fields and interact in the company of Knights, Ladies and Commoners, all rigorously dressed according to philologically correct dictates.

Cultural meetings, exhibitions, recreational and sporting activities, historical archery tests, ancient fencing tournaments, shows and skits are scheduled over the three days, creating a fusion between culture-sport-history which make this re-enactment a jewel available to the people of Brescia.

“a.d.1238 Frederick II and the siege of Brescia” scheduled every year at the beginning of October at the Castle in Brescia.
Are you ready to enjoy the show?
It was precisely on 6 October 800 years ago that the city, under the siege of Frederick II of Swabia, resisted strenuously. The emperor’s plan, which involved a pincer maneuver to take Milan, in fact encountered an obstacle: Brescia.

Crooked castle
The climb to the entrance to the castle is packed, where adults and children alike are enchanted by the re-enactors of the Brotherhood of the Lion. Here, among shining armour, historical weapons and banners, the re-enactment brings to life the key moments of the siege: from the parliament before the battle to the incursions of the Brescian knights and infantry into the emperor’s camps, up to the surrender of Frederick II.
