An open-air selection of the artist’s major masterpieces, displayed in the most evocative points of the village. A pleasant Open-Air Museum. The art that becomes one with the nature and architecture of the places.

The Municipality of Caglio pays homage to the great master and his stay in Brianza with a permanent exhibition.

Through a careful selection of some of his major masterpieces, reproduced on a large scale and placed en plein air in the most evocative points of the Brianza village and most significantly linked to the master, the exhibition traces the entire artistic and existential experience of the painter Giovanni Segantini who lived in Caglio for an entire year together with his partner to escape the city chaos of Milan and stay in the quieter Brianza.

The painter spent five years in the Brianza area, between Caglio and Pusiano, painting one of his most beautiful masterpieces here: Ave Maria a Trasbordo, now housed in St. Moritz in the museum named after the painter, Segantini Museum, and “Alla Stanga” at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, Rome

The 16 works are located among the streets of the town most linked to the master. A Free guided tour to discover Segantini’s most important masterpieces, reproduced in life size and placed outdoors among the alleys and small squares of the perfectly preserved medieval village

The works are arranged according to a very specific order and following the “Segantini Route”, in the meantime, you also visit the village.

Even in Pusiano following the new Segantini route you can see reproductions of various works by the Zionist painter who drew inspiration from the nature and colors of this corner of Brianza.
