The installations were created as part of the “Big Bench Community Project” (BBCP) by American artist/designer Chris Bangle.

Curiosity
There’s the BBCP Passport (Big Bench Community Project). It’s a way to collect Stamps from every bench you visit on the “BBCP Passport.”

To obtain it and have it stamped, simply go to a participating point of sale (such as a café, stationery store, or newsstand) indicated by a sign near the giant bench.
The list of points of sale and updates are available on the official website of the project.
