The “Enrico Caffi” Civic Museum of Natural Sciences constitutes a cultural heritage of the city of Bergamo. The naturalistic treasures acquired during its history, which began in 1918, have allowed it to be enriched with mineralogical, geological, paleontological, zoological and ethnographic collections of great interest.
The rich variety of samples displayed in over 4,000 square meters of exhibition rooms is only a small part of what the Museum holds in its collections, the result of donations and intense research activity that the Museum’s staff and collaborators carry out through specialist projects studies conducted in collaboration with national and international research institutes.

Visitors can take advantage of particularly engaging recreational and educational activities along the route and have the opportunity to touch some original finds or specially created reproductions. The entire sensorial journey has been set up to allow it to be enjoyed even by a non-selling public.
Research, conservation and exhibition not only with the aim of showing the wonders of the natural world but, above all, to raise visitor awareness towards the protection of the natural heritage that we are all required to preserve and pass on to future generations.

The exhibition sector is located on the first floor of Piazza Cittadella and the history and purpose of this century-old cultural institution are summarized in the large entrance. It is accessed via a large staircase at the end of which your attention is immediately attracted by an imposing reconstruction of Mammoth.
A relief map allows you to understand the organization of the exhibition itinerary which includes spaces dedicated to zoology, earth sciences and ethnography.
The QR Codes present in the rooms allow you to listen to the audio guides relating to the exhibition directly from your smartphone
