Lozio, also known as the Mountaineers’ Village, does not exist as a town; it is a district made up of four hamlets: Villa, Sommaprada, Laveno, and Sucinva.

The Giant Bench, aquamarine in color and marked with the number 83, is located in a place called “Dos de l’Ora“.

A few meters from the bench is also a small Picnic Area called “dei Balocchi” with charming wooden sculptures.

On this small hill, in times gone by, shepherds from the various hamlets of Lozio and neighboring municipalities would meet to spend long evenings together, admiring the view that stretches all the way to the tip of Lake Iseo and waiting for the wind (the Ora) to bring news from the valley floor.

Some trails along the route

– “The Resistance Trail” a historic trail used by partisans during World War II, approximately 15 km long, which also passes through the municipalities of Losine, Cerveno, and Malegno;

– “The Nature Trail” which runs entirely through the municipal area for approximately 20 km, reaching each of the four hamlets (Laveno, Sommaprada, Sucinva, and Villa) and passing through the varied natural landscapes of the Lozio Valley.
