Milan – Museum of Peoples and Cultures, Oriental charm and Tribal Art

A museum full of unusual objects, intended to amaze and amaze the visitor, recreating an exotic and mysterious atmosphere, oriental art and ethnographic finds.

Through the rooms of the museum it is possible to retrace the many adventures that brought ancient artefacts, stuffed animals and tribal works of art back to the West.

A place dedicated to knowledge and dialogue with the Cultures of the World, thanks to a rich and varied collection of pieces from Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America.

Engaging and interactive multimedia stations to offer, for example, the possibility of leafing through the most Ancient Atlas of China, of wearing a Chinese scholar’s dress of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) or playing the Burmese Drums.

The collections are arranged according to thematic themes ranging from Oriental Philosophies, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, to Fabrics, Rites and Daily Life.

Born in 1910 thanks to the work of PIME missionaries, the Peoples and Cultures Museum is an ethnographic museum managed by the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions which brings together various ethnographic collections from the countries visited by the missionaries of the Institute
