The Prehistory Park, located a few kilometers from the Caravaggio sanctuary, is set in a huge centuries-old forest.

Made up of hedges approximately 1.80 meters high and extending for almost 1000 m2.
PALEONTOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Darwin, the dinosaur paleontologist, takes you on a fascinating journey to discover paleontology, illustrated by 3 dioramas, 30 educational panels and 60 finds, including casts and fossils.
You will thus learn what fossils are, where they are found and how they are excavated. You will discover what the footsteps tell us. You will see four example setups.
PALEONTOLOGICAL EXCAVATION
A laboratory for the preparation and study of fossils. A corner of the Museum for the conservation of finds
a suggestive reconstructed entire skeleton.
You will try to imagine the appearance in life of an animal that lived in the past and you will know how Art and Science collaborate to provide reliable reconstructions.
Finally, you will be projected into the distant past of planet Earth through its Eras, Geological time and Primordial living beings.
ZOOLOGY – The fauna of the park
In the Park we find animals in semi-freedom, small mammals, such as the Wild Rabbit which lives in numerous societies in the bush and the solitary hare, more restless and wary.
Among the rodents, the very cute Squirrel, the friendly Mice and the lively Dormouse which, after a lazy winter spent in hibernation, shows up very lively spring.

In the Park forest, mixed with species linked, directly or indirectly, to human activity (Poplars, Hybrids, Robinia), all the woody essences typical of the ancient lowland forest coexist (Farnia, Elm, Poplar, Hornbeam, Hawthorn).

Forest, Swamp, Meadows, Lakes and River. The freshwater marsh, submerged plants (Myriophyllous, Utricolaria, Vallisneria), floating plants (Lemma, Spirodela), plants with floating leaves, but rooted in a solid substrate ( Water lily, Nannufaro), Semi-submerged plants (Scirpi), Reed beds (Cattail, Reed reed), Sedge populations (Sedge sp. pl.) , Salice grove (Salici sp. pl.), Forest (mixed oak forest of deciduous broad-leaved trees)
