Seeing is believing. A special place where we talk about science using science. Visitors can have an evocative experience discovering themselves as scientists at all ages. Many topics divided between Perception, Physics (waves, light, forces, electromagnetism), Mathematics, Earth Sciences, Astronomy, Earthquake Simulation, Tsunamis…

The museum is housed in a historic villa with a breathtaking view that reaches all the way to the sea, ideal for families with children who want to discover space and many demonstrations of physical principles while having fun
40 interactive stations to try firsthand each accompanied by a caption and, in case of difficulty, there is very kind and helpful staff.

The museum reflects the “hands-on” philosophy – DO NOT touch! and DO NOT Experiment
Interactivity and first-person exploration are a guarantee of involvement.
Curiosity is the guide that pushes visitors to discover, not only what is in the various rooms, but also to understand how the experiments work.

Without age limits. The museum is barrier-free to make science more inclusive and accessible to all. Reservations required.

Five rooms (hall of illusions, conference room, room of deception, room of forces, room of waves) which can be visited freely; a Planetarium (for children aged 6 and over); and an Astronomical Observatory (for children aged 10 and over).

Children and Breastfeeding
Areas for breastfeeding and changing newborns are set up and made available to new parents.
For older children: educational workshops, periodic initiatives for children, shows at the Planetarium and evenings in the Observatory. There is also a children’s bookshop and a beautiful park outside.

Every last Sunday of the month the opening of the museum is dedicated to the whole family: in addition to free entry for children under 10 years old, the museum organizes extra activities included in the ticket price
A cognitive journey divided into disciplines, everything to observe, touch and think about.
You will be able to independently explore the nine thematic rooms, for a total of 48 interactive stations, which show scientific phenomena and experiments divided into perception, physics (waves, light, forces, electromagnetism), mathematics, earth sciences, life sciences and astronomy.

Digital Planetarium
A fascinating journey into the starry sky and beyond
Under the large dome of 8 meters in diameter it is possible to admire the simulation of our fascinating and enchanting starry sky.
During the shows, visitors comfortably seated will have the opportunity to not only observe the starry sky with the naked eye, but also distinguish the colors of the stars, the shape of the constellations and the mythological figures associated with them.

And again, they will be able to set off on interplanetary journeys with breathtaking close-ups of celestial objects, flying closely over nebulae, galaxies and black holes, carrying out flybys of the planets of the solar system, as if they were inside a spaceship completely immersed in the firmament. A nocturnal dream suspended between reality and fantasy.

Creative Workshops
Various rooms in Villa del Balì are used as temporary laboratories in which to experiment, freeing creativity and critical thinking.
Supporters of the Tinkering teaching methodology
we organize days to “get your hands dirty“, learning by doing, through the use of commonly used objects, often giving a second chance to simple recycled materials. Real working mechanisms and circuits are born from the amused minds of adults and children. We will be thrilled to see you realize your project!

Then sharpen your ingenuity and put it to the test
trying to solve exciting puzzles! … or enter the labyrinths, challenging not only your sense of orientation, but also logic, to find the key that will allow you to reach the exit!
The observatory is designed for use on multiple levels:
children, teenagers, adults and families will be able to look through the telescope, perhaps for the first time, taking a close look at the Moon, the planets of the Solar System, or some other object bright enough to be easy to observe;
enthusiasts and curious people and those who already have knowledge on the subject will find the sophisticated instrumentation a valid aid in optimizing their research.
