The streets come alive with shows, music and activities that recall local history and traditions. A series of events that include parades in Medieval costumes, Competitions and Races between the various districts of the city.
The Palio di San Giovanni Battista is a historic medieval reenactment that takes place in Fabriano, in the province of Ancona, to celebrate the patron saint of the city, San Giovanni Battista, on June 24.
The event is held every year in the historic center of Fabriano and lasts about two weeks, from June 12 to 24, with numerous events, competitions and shows
The festival recalls the period of the fourteenth century, a golden age for Fabriano, and recalls the conquest of the city by Guido Chiavelli in 1378, on the very day of San Giovanni Battista and involves four historic districts of the city, called Porte: Porta del Borgo (yellow), Porta Cervara (red), Porta del Piano (blue) and Porta Pisana (green).
There is no shortage of Dance, Fire, Historical Conferences and Festive moments in the inns set up in the districts.
Competition on artistic Infiorate
Among the most anticipated moments: the spectacular carpets of flowers created in the historic squares and cloisters by the four districts.
Stunning carpets of flowers as a splendid combination of collective, religious and popular art together.
The sketches prepared by local artists, by virtue of a patient and wise composition of herbs, flowers and shrub species, are transformed by the portaioli into scenes and figures dedicated to the cult of San Giovanni Battista.

Events, music, themed menus. Each heart of the Doors together give life to the entertainment of the historical reenactment.
