The quality of the mosaics and the variety of the finds make Colombarone one of the most important archaeological complexes in the Marche region, immersed in the greenery of the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, along the ancient Via Flaminia

The Archaeological Area and the Antiquarium of Colombarone are immersed in the greenery of the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, along the ancient Via Flaminia, a few kilometers from Pesaro and close to the centers of Cattolica, Gradara and Gabicce Mare
A special place that traces the thousand-year history of the territory and represents a fundamental stop for discovering the Adriatic of the late ancient period

The Villa, a country residence of a landowner or state official, still preserves splendid polychrome mosaics and remains of wall decorations dating back to between the 4th and the 6th century
The site has maintained a religious function until contemporary times, with the construction of a nineteenth-century church and, in the twentieth century, of the current parish

The Antiquarium is housed in the spaces of the nineteenth-century church.
The Museum exhibits finds from the excavations: Mosaics, Ceramics, Bronzes, Glass, Crockery, Amphorae, Coins, Ornamental objects, Household utensils and architectural materials.
Among the most significant pieces are:
– Lead pipes for the water of the villa,
– Fragments of stained glass and the marble iconostasis of the basilica,
– A rare hanging chandelier (polycandilon),
– A small monetary treasure and glass chalices from the early Christian era.

A Multimedia Video introduces the tour with an immersive reconstruction of the rooms of the villa and the basilica
The archaeological area is equipped with signage and explanatory panels, also in Braille, to make the visit accessible and engaging for everyone, including children
