A multimedia and engaging journey that tells the story of the composer as if it were an opera, with memorabilia, documents, musical instruments and interactive installations.

The Rossini National Museum is the narration of a long artistic and sentimental journey, unique in its kind, compelling, dramatic and full of curious anecdotes.
The protagonist is him, the great star son of an era that generated the first pop star ante litteram (ahead of his time) in European musical history: Gioachino Rossini.

Visitors are invited into the world of Rossini, told as an opera, a musical metaphor for his intense life.
A fascinating journey, divided into ten rooms, which follows the biographical stages of the composer and the boundless operatic production of his career, set each time in the historical context, among places and characters (relatives, teachers, impresarios, singers, musicians, politicians, rulers).

The Overture is the Hall of Mirrors, where the Pleyel piano that belonged to the Maestro is exhibited, continuing through the sections divided into two Acts and an Intermezzo or a Video Area with projections of important masterpieces such as “The Barber of Seville”, “Cinderella”, “The Touchstone”, “Moses in Egypt” and “Guillaume Tell”.

In a suggestive neoclassical setting, the story unfolds room by room, each with differently colored walls and frescoed ceilings with mythological themes magnificently preserved, where Paintings, Busts, Relics, Original Scores, Booklets, Scenery are set up, accompanied by multimedia and interactive supports of the latest generation, designed for easy and captivating use of the contents.

Extraordinary documents and materials, scientifically organized with the contribution of the Rossini Foundation, including videos of famous editions of the Rossini Opera Festival.
The museum also offers multimedia and interactive tools to immerse yourself in the world of Rossini.

In addition to the permanent collection, the place hosts events and exhibitions on music and its history, enriching your visit with new stimuli and knowledge.
And if after visiting the museum you are still thirsty for Rossini, Pesaro offers an entire itinerary dedicated to the composer, which includes the Rossini Theater, Rossini House, Palazzo Mosca – Civic Museums, the Tempietto Rossiniano and the Library of the Rossini Foundation.
