An annual event celebrating the works of famous composer Gioachino Rossini. An international point of reference for the rediscovery and valorization of Rossini’s opera.

The Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) is one of the most prestigious international opera festivals, entirely dedicated to the work of Gioachino Rossini, held every year in August in Pesaro, the composer’s hometown, capable of attracting audiences, artists and scholars from all over the world, and represents one of the most important cultural events in Pesaro and in the whole of Italy
The Festival’s objective is the rediscovery, performance and scientific study of the entire Rossini musical heritage, with particular attention to the lesser-known and rarely performed works

The performances take place in various symbolic places of Pesaro:
– Teatro Rossini historic main venue of the festival
– Vitrifrigo Arena used for the most popular productions.
– Teatro Sperimentale dedicated to minor works by Rossini and his contemporaries.
– Piazza del Popolo, for outdoor shows and large events
This event takes place every year usually from the second week of August for about 10 days
