A significant example of Renaissance architecture, characterized by a central plan and a simple but elegant facade

The little church of Santo Spirito is located in Via Bramante on the edge of the Botanical Garden, and opens onto a large square on the street that leads to the Roveresca walls.

According to some documents, the building dates back to 1554, but a congregation of the same name existed since 1398, so the church could also be older than what is believed.
The Church is accessed through a beautiful Renaissance Portal.

The external façade is composed of a triangular pediment while two simple lateral pillars delimit a large window surmounted by cherubs.
The interior has a single rectangular hall and the jewel of this small church is the barrel vault, divided into fifteen panels that represent the four Prophets and the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.

On the walls we find fourteen canvases depicting the Virgin, the Magdalene and the apostles perhaps by Cialdieri.
Behind the high altar triumphs a splendid Pentecost, a work perhaps attributed to Federico Zuccari.
