A real journey into the past at a depth of five meters, a path that will allow you to discover the excavations of the Bishop’s Palace and the Cathedral, which have brought to light a heritage forgotten for centuries.

The site displays finds from the Medieval Era, an Ancient Cistern and a Necropolis from the 10th century.

The exhibition route consists of various rooms dating back to the medieval period and then reused over the centuries, such as the Defensive Tower of the Bishop’s Palace which damaged by the terrible earthquake of 1456, it was used as a cistern, we continue with the garages where you can admire various and precious finds discovered by chance during the excavation of the very first room called precisely “warehouse of 1200”.

Noteworthy among these are the Capitals dating back to the construction site of Frederick (13th century) of the adjacent Cathedral which preserves the relics of San Timoteo.

The underground tour ends in the suggestive Cemetery area with very ancient tombs, where you can breathe an air of mystery and devotion.
