Little houses and wooden statues representing elves and animals to make young and old experience the Montaldo Roero forest with fantasy, where the magical inhabitants of the Fairy Forest hide among the chestnut trees.
A small forest to visit and discover.

Just a few steps from the entrance to the magical forestyou can use the picnic area with: Wooden tables and benches, a fountain from which to draw water, a brick brazier for grilling and barbecues

This is a really convenient place for a lunch break or snack before or after visiting the suggestive Fairy Forest.

A forest of centuries-old chestnut trees populated by wooden creatures, gnomes, animals and birdhouses …an enchanted forest that revealed many surprises thanks to the precious suggestions of the Ecomuseum of the Rocche del Roero, an impeccable organizer of a family-friendly trip.

Along the way, like in a treasure hunt, you can have fun finding the wooden sculptures of gnomes and wild animals made by the wood artist Barba Brisiu, many colorful birdhouses in the trees, a small library in nature and other fairy-tale attractions.

Great for family walks to discover the flora and fauna of the place, always accompanied by the elves of the forest.
The forest is free and accessible to all.
Inside it is possible to stop on benches or lie down on the lawns but there are no water points (the fountain is present in the picnic area).

It is recommended to experience the Bosco Fatato while respecting nature, so remember to ALWAYS take your waste away with you.
The walk is suitable for even very young children (or parents with backpacks and baby carriers), it starts from the main square of Montaldo Roero and crosses a bridge with a breathtaking view of the gullies and then enters the Bosco Fatato.

Once you have crossed the bridge, continue straight, go past the turnoff for the cemetery, further ahead on the left you will find an equipped rest area with a fountain if you need to refill your water bottles (there are none in the woods), go past it and a little further on the left you will find the sign indicating the start of the nature trail.

Once you have visited the Woods, it is advisable to go back and NOT undertake the remaining part of the Path (Rocca del Serro Path), because it is very demanding on a technical level and unsuitable for children under 12, also because of its dangerous overhanging descent on the precipice on the Rocche.
