The Pinacoteca Metropolitana di Bari, also known as Pinacoteca Corrado Giaquinto, is an important art museum named after the famous painter Corrado Giaquinto and serves as the main regional art museum, exhibiting a wide range of Artworks related to the Puglia region

The route in the Museum is divided into 20 Rooms that tell the History and Evolution of Apulian Art from the 11th to the 19th century.

Collection
The Pinacoteca’s collection spans the period from the 11th to the 20th century and includes works by several prominent artists:
Renaissance and Baroque Period: Works by artists such as Bartolomeo Vivarini, Paris Bordon, Giovanni Bellini, Tintoretto, Palma il Giovane, Luca Giordano and Corrado Giaquinto himself.
18th Century: Notable works include those by Francesco De Mura and Giuseppe Bonito.

19th Century: The collection includes works by Giuseppe De Nittis, Francesco Netti, Domenico Morelli and Giovanni Boldini.
20th Century: Artists such as Giorgio de Chirico and Giorgio Morandi are represented.
Special Collections: The museum houses a valuable collection of ceramics, mostly from the 17th and 18th centuries, donated through the De Gemmis donation in 1957.

In addition, the Grieco Collection, which includes 50 prestigious Italian paintings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries
The permanent collections of the Pinacoteca are divided into
Medieval Section which collects icons, sculptures and sacred representations of the medieval period

Venetian Paintings Section, which displays paintings of the Venetian school recovered from the main churches of Puglia and where you can admire works by Jacopo Tintoretto, Giovanni Bellini and Paris Bordon
Pugliese Paintings Section, which hosts paintings by important artists of the Renaissance period such as Andrea Bordone and Costantino da Monopoli
Neapolitan School Section, where you can discover the magnificent Neapolitan Baroque art through the works of Andrea Vaccaro, Fedele Fischetti and the famous Master of the Annunciation to the Shepherds

Giaquinto Section, where there is a vast collection of paintings by the Apulian artist
Contemporary Section, which exhibits works by artists from the late nineteenth century
Inside the Pinacoteca you can also admire some Private Collections donated by important philanthropists and patrons.
Interactive digital installation located in an immersive room that integrates with the visit of the other rooms of the museum. A space that has the goal of making Art accessible and inclusive, actively involving visitors in the creation of new works and fantastic landscapes through touch design that allows the generation of visual and sound content in real time, promoting the interconnection between art and digital.

A table surrounded by six satellite objects, inspired by Pino Pascali’s Pozzanghere, a kind of well from which to draw images, memories and emotions.
Through a tactile sensor, which generates a symphony of sounds and images, the visitor lives a sensorial and interactive experience.
The installation aims to make art accessible, engaging and inclusive, promoting creative processes that allow visitors to actively contribute to the creation of new works, fantastic landscapes that are revealed through their intervention.
