Small museum for enthusiasts of the sector, with models, speleologists’ suits and a collection of minerals dedicated to the speleologist and discoverer of the caves Franco Anelli
To Anelli’s original intentions – the visit to the Speleological Museum will be an easy, delightful excursion through the pages of a fascinating book, the book of caves: a few tidy chapters of commentary on a ponderous volume, that of the Science of Caves* –

The Speleological Museum of the Castellana Caves, inaugurated on 23 January 2000, on the 62nd anniversary of the discovery of the karst system, is named after the Lodi speleologist Franco Anelli (1899-1977) who was, as well as the discoverer, also popularizer and passionate director of the Caves .
The Museum, housed in the building designed by the architect Pietro Favia (1895-1972), as well as being a useful opportunity for in-depth study for the curious tourist, has for several years been the destination of growing school tourism – almost 6000 visitors in the 2010 school year – 2011 – which through guided tours, educational workshops and speleotourist visits to the lateral branches of the Caves, represents one of the main innovations of the karst site in recent years.
