One of the most colorful and Instagrammable Attractions in the Historic center. Ideal for climbing, taking photos, and enjoying the colors.

The Artists’ Staircase (also known as Via dell’Arte) is one of the most colorful and Instagrammable attractions in the historic center of Agrigento.

This pedestrian staircase has been transformed into an open-air urban work of art, with hand-painted steps, vibrant murals, welcome messages in many languages, and decorations.

A colorful urban artwork born from an initiative by the Onlus Culturart association, which painted the steps.

Considered among the 16 most colorful stairways in the world, the steps feature rainbows, stylized pianos, and floral decorations, while nearby shutters depict prickly pears, a Sicilian symbol. It is a free attraction that enlivens the historic center near Via Atenea and the Church of Purgatory.

It’s a lively place, especially in the summer when they become a destination for emerging artists, cultural events, and tourists
Start from Via Atenea (the main pedestrian street in the historic center, full of shops and bars).

Go up towards Via Neve (or Via della Neve), near the Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso and not far from the Cathedral of San Gerlando.
