The Festa della Castellana commemorates the entry and taking possession of the city by the Lord of Caccamo and his noble consort.
The Lady of the Castle, together with the two Maids of Honor, is elected during the event and symbolically handed over the keys to the city in the majestic Medieval Castle
The highlight is the Historical Procession featuring many participants in period costume: Ladies, Knights, Flag-wavers, Medieval Tournaments, Drummers, and the Castellana, who represents the last lady of the castle.
The event includes Music and Artistic Performances in the evocative setting of the medieval village and castle.
Every detail, from the costumes to the musicians, helps relive the past.
