The Radiology Museum is a facility dedicated to the history and evolution of radiology, located within the “Paolo Giaccone” University Hospital in Palermo.

It houses a vast Collection of Machinery that have shaped the history of Radiology, accompanying visitors along a museum tour that leads them to discover the history of radiology by recounting its events, the men who dedicated their entire lives to this science, and finally, the instruments that characterize it and differentiate it from all other medical disciplines.

The collection includes over 300 artifacts, including Radiology and Radiotherapy equipment, Electrotherapy, Radiotherapy, Ultrasound therapy, Surgical instruments, Laboratory instruments, Physics instruments, and Video/photographic equipment.

– Antique radiographs, X-ray tubes, vintage medical equipment, and educational materials;
– Historical tubes from various eras, including pioneering models;

– Photocautery with biconvex lenses by Antonino Sciascia (the world’s first for phototherapy, late 19th century);
– Antique radiographs, electrotherapy and ultrasound devices;
– Laboratory instruments, period videos, and films on the discovery of X-rays (for guided tours).
