An exciting dive into the past. A journey that unites past and present to discover how the legacy of those travelers continues to influence our lives today.

The Museum of Emigration was created to recount the great migratory exodus from Sicily beginning in the late 19th century, with particular attention to the citizens of Santa Ninfa who emigrated, primarily to the United States.
The permanent exhibition includes passports, letters, employment contracts, bank checks, photographs, vintage postcards, and firsthand accounts of emigrants’ lives.

The museum illustrates the economic and political causes of emigration, with references to the Sicilian revolutionary uprisings and the agricultural crisis caused by phylloxera.
The history of emigrant communities is told, with particular emphasis on mutual aid organizations and the social commitment of Italian-American communities.

Extensive space is dedicated to emigration in the province of Trapani, with images and multimedia materials.
The museum offers educational tours, guided tours in Italian and English, cultural events, book presentations, and workshops on migration and family roots.
