The Butterfly House, the Etna Museum and the Apiary, three structures in a single location equipped for recreational activities with nature trail, picnic areas, children’s playground, ideal for spending a day outdoors open air in a natural environment easily accessible to all.
Structures with the aim of promoting environmental education, tourist enjoyment, scientific dissemination and defense of biodiversity.
The first in Southern Italy, a large tropical aviary where hundreds of butterflies, among the most beautiful and extraordinary in the world, with the most varied shapes and colours, are free to fly. In the midst of its lush vegetation they can be observed at close range in all their beauty while they feed, fly or rest in an environment that reproduces their natural habitat.

It is a real living museum dedicated to butterflies and the world of insects.
Inside we find butterflies, among the most beautiful and particular in the world, such as: the Cobra Moth, for example, which has the shape and colors of the Cobra snake on its wings in order to defend itself from predators; or the Owl Butterfly, with the fake owl eyes; or even the famous Leaf Butterfly which camouflages itself perfectly among the real leaves.

During the visit of approximately 30 minutes, expert guides, through an interactive journey, explain the various life stages of these creatures by telling anecdotes and giving truly surprising information.
The butterflies flutter freely inside the large greenhouse and it is possible to observe them up close especially when they land on visitors

A large educational space with Interactive Areas, Information Panels and Hives, which is suitable for guided tours aimed at families.

A beekeeper will accompany visitors into the world of Bees and Honey who will be able to safely observe the educational glass hive with the bees at work intent on producing the nectar of the gods.

The largest Volcanological Museum in Italy (with interactive exhibits, three-dimensional dioramas and everything you need to know about Etna).
The Museum delves into and illustrates, in a simple and clear way, all aspects of Etna. The myths, history, scientific theories and nature of the volcano recently recognized by UNESCO. From the main eruptions projected in the cinema room and along the museum itineraries to scale reconstructions; from lava formations to typical products such as wine, oil and honey. Basically everything you need to know about Etna, in its complexity and its endless charm.

The largest museum in Italy dedicated to the volcanoes of the Earth offers a unique opportunity to get to the heart of volcanic eruptions. With the support of specialists it will seem like taking a real journey to the center of the Earth, to discover how and why volcanoes exist, how they work and what dangers they present for populations: focus on the volcanoes of the world, on the history of the Earth and its internal structure, to understand the dynamics that cause earthquakes and volcanoes. There is also an entire section dedicated to the work carried out by volcanologists and the scientific techniques for monitoring Etna and other Italian volcanoes.
