A predominantly coniferous forest, with Panoramic views and equipped for Picnics, hiking trails, and mountain biking.
Baronia Wood is located less than 2 km from the town of Vita. From the picnic area’s square, a series of roads suitable for vehicles lead into the forest, where, at some panoramic points, you can admire the Temple of Segesta, the Pianto Romano monument to Garibaldi, Rocca Busambra, and Mount Bonifato.
The area offers equipped picnic areas, with ample parking, a water fountain, baskets, picnic tables, several shared barbecues, and a cabin with bathroom.
Firewood is easy to find.

In the forest are the “nivieri,” ancient, large, concave structures shaped like inverted cones. These structures, insulated with layers of straw and earth, stored large quantities of snow. These snows would remain unmelted for several months, fostering commercial activity throughout the province and providing significant water resources in the summer.
Within the forest, which is predominantly coniferous, but also contains some black locust trees, patches of the ancient downy oak forest survive, along with its accompanying flora.

Starting from the municipality of Vita, follow the municipal road that leads to the Baronia Forestry Department.
