An interactive and engaging experience to discover the History, Costumes and Characters that make the Traditional Medieval Historical Reenactment unique, held twice a year in Piazza Grande.

The “The Colors of the Giostra” Museum in Arezzo is an immersive exhibition path dedicated to the Giostra del Saracino, a traditional knightly tournament that is held twice a year (June and September) and which still today brings the city of Arezzo back to the glories of its most flourishing Middle Ages.
Set up on the ground floor of the Town Hall, it tells the story and the characters that make the Reenactment unique through original clothes and objects, Digital and Interactive technologies, such as Immersive projections and informative Touch screens, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality experiences.

A route capable of immersing the public in the atmosphere of Piazza Grande where on the day of the re-enactment, among trumpet blasts, drum rolls, flag acrobatics, a procession of over four hundred participants turns back the hands of time.

Main attractions
Historical Costumes: Displayed in three rooms, the costumes of the Giostra participants are accompanied by touch screen panels that tell their story.

Visitors can admire restored costumes, including those created by Luigi Sapelli (Caramba) in 1934 and later ones by Nino Vittorio Novarese (1956-1992).
Immersive technologies
270-degree video mapping: An immersive room envelops the visitor with projections that recreate the atmosphere of the Giostra, from the historical parade to the jousting ceremonies.
Virtual Reality: Visitors can simulate the career of a jouster in the arena against the Buratto, wearing a VR headset and holding a lance.
Augmented Reality: Historical costumes come to life thanks to QR Code markers that animate them in the places of the Giostra.

Golden Lance
The last room is dedicated to the Giostra trophies, with a work of art created by Maestro Francesco Conti and a touch screen that shows the cards and images of the Golden Lances from the 80s to today.
It also includes the hand-painted roll of honor by Claudio Milesi.
Physical test
Visitors can try their hand at lifting a competition spear, experiencing the physical experience of the competition first-hand.
