Colors and scents mix in the air and on the streets, making parks and avenues real spectacles: parents, grandparents, grandchildren, the whole community is involved in the composition of the “flowers”, carrying on a tradition that is lost in the past .
A consolidated tradition which involves the various communities of the area and which sees them busy in the fields, during the previous days, in search of the most beautiful and colorful flowers to prepare the wonderful expanses from the early hours of the morning on the day of celebration.
True carpets of flowers decorate the streets of some of the most beautiful and evocative areas of the Municipality of Capannori. A tradition that is renewed from year to year to celebrate Corpus Domini.
The traditional fioreta or ”Pertero’‘ is lost in the mists of time. Already in the early 1900s it was customary to make the fioreta in the towns of Capannorese for this holiday.
Catechists, young people, voluntary associations, engaged in drawing up floral paintings of different colors from the early morning in a colorful journey inherent to the theme of the feast of Corpus Domini made even more beautiful by the fantastic landscape of the cypress avenue.
