Discover Dante, his life, his works and his city with a Visit to the Museum supported by Multimedia content. An unforgettable experience that will accompany visitors in the rediscovery of one of the most important authors of Italian literature right in the heart of medieval Florence where he was born.

The Museo Casa di Dante in Florence is dedicated to Dante Alighieri, the great Italian poet known for writing the Divine Comedy and is located in the heart of medieval Florence, in a historic building that is believed to have hosted Dante or his family.
Dante himself indicated the location of the house in his works. This house is located near the church of Santa Margherita de Cerchi, where he supposedly met Beatrice Portinari.
Although little remains of the original building, the Museum offers an immersive experience in the life and works of Dante, using cutting-edge technologies such as Touch screens, Interactive tables, Virtual reality and Video mapping

Inside, thanks to models, explanatory panels, dioramas and reconstructions, it is possible to discover how the daily life of Dante and his contemporaries was intertwined with the complex medieval Florence.
In some rooms, historical events of the time are even reconstructed (such as the battle of Campaldini between Guelphs and Ghibellines).
For lovers of ancient objects, the museum also houses a vast collection of original objects from the time: Medical and Apothecary artefacts (an art of which Dante himself was a master), precious painted ceramics and many other ancient objects of common use in the Florence of the Poet.

On the first floor, objects used by doctors and apothecaries of the time are exhibited.
On the second floor, there is a reconstruction of a noble bedroom from the 1300s and information on Dante’s life and exile.
On the third floor, rare volumes are preserved, including a copy of the Divine Comedy
