A now fixed event in the calendar of events is that of the Lucchese Antiques Market which was born in 1970, when the antiques dealers of Lucca together with restaurateurs and traders from other sectors gave life to the first edition.
What is it
The Lucchese Antiques Market is now an unmissable event in the Lucca panorama. To date, around 220 exhibitors from all over Italy are participating and it is considered one of the most important in the country, not only for the wealth of objects on display but also for the extraordinary symbiosis between the stalls and the streets and squares of the city

On the third Sunday of the month and the previous Saturday Via del Battistero, Piazza Antelminelli, Piazza San Martino, Piazza San Giusto, Piazza San Giovanni and Piazza Bernardini are filled with exhibitors and numerous visitors, from Lucca and beyond.
The antiques tradition of Lucca, however, has much longer origins: it was born in the Middle Ages when noble families used to search throughout Europe for exclusive pieces with which to enrich their homes.
The antiques market moves to Piazza Bernardini
On the occasion of the redevelopment works on the pavement of Piazza del Giglio, starting from December 2023 until the end of the works themselves, the Antiques Market will also take place in Piazza Bernardini, as well as in Piazza Antelminelli, Piazza San Martino, Piazza S. Giovanni, Piazza XX Settembre, Piazza S. Giusto, Corte Bertolini, via del Duomo and via del Battistero.
