Museum of the Castle and Medieval Ceramics, over 600 examples of medieval ceramics, dating back to the 13th century, found during an archaeological excavation in the apse of the Church of Sant’Antimo sopra i Canali.

The rarest medieval ceramics often include examples of Archaic Majolica, Glazed Jugs and closed forms such as jugs and pitchers, which are particularly significant for their rarity and the historical context in which they were produced.
Including Archaic Majolica of Pisan production and ceramics imported from various parts of the Mediterranean.

Ground Floor
Dedicated to the Castle and its historical construction phases.
First Floor
Focused on medieval ceramic production, with finds from the church of Sant’Antimo.
Second Floor
Tells the story of Piombino, from its medieval origins to the arrival of Princess Elisa Bonaparte, with historical reconstructions such as the Fonte dei Canali

The museum uses videos, touch and interactive stations to explain the history of the castle and the city in a modern and engaging way
