The Herbs and Health through the Centuries path exalts the therapeutic power of herbs and passes on the history of the millenary relationship between Man and Plants.
The Aboca Museum is a unique museum of its kind, dedicated to the history and philosophy of the Aboc company, a leader in the natural products and phytotherapy sector, to the history of medicinal plants and their relationship with man.
The Museum aims to safeguard and promote the traditional use of Medicinal Herbs and Extracts to improve health. It seeks to spread botanical-medical knowledge and rediscover the age-old relationship between man and herbs

Among the main rooms to visit
– Mortar Hall
It displays splendid mortars in bronze, stone, alabaster, wood and ivory, with decorations ranging from the 13th to the 18th century.
– 19th Century Pharmacy
One of the most fascinating rooms in the museum, it reconstructs a historical pharmacy with wooden shelves containing vases, glass bowls, ceramic jars and tools used for the preparation of remedies.

– Stanza degli Erbari
Precious herbals and books of pharmaceutical botany that document the ancient tradition of the use of medicinal plants.
– Ceramics Room
It displays decorated ceramic jugs, vases, jars and bottles, used in apothecaries to store medicines
– Herbs Room
It is suggestive for the medicinal herbs hanging from the ceiling, a traditional method to protect them from light and encourage their drying

– Antica Spezieria
Reconstruction of a 17th-century apothecary with stills, distillers and ovens used to prepare medicines
– Reconstruction of the Laboratories
A faithful reconstruction of ancient apothecary laboratories, where medicinal herbs were processed. The environment is enriched with distillation tools and historic containers.
– 16th-century Warehouse
It reconstructs the environment where herbs were dried and stored in the 16th century.
– History Room
Features portraits of historical figures such as Asclepius, Hippocrates, Galen, Lavoisier and Linnaeus. Includes a collection of herbals and explanatory panels that tell the story of the use of medicinal plants from prehistory to the present day
– Phytochemical Laboratory
Tells the story of the transition from the ancient art of the apothecary to the modern chemistry introduced by Lavoisier

Outside, the garden hosts a collection of over 100 medicinal plants, which complete the museum tour with an immersive experience in nature.
Bibliotheca Antiqua
thousands of specialized books on the Historical Theme of Herbs and health over the centuries. Includes Rare and Ancient texts, such as Herbaria and books on Pharmacology, Chemistry and Medicine.

Escape Aboca Museum, a fun and exciting activity modeled specifically for the rooms of our museum. Designed for adults, the activity can be done individually or in a group – for example by families with children aged 10 and up or by small groups of friends with a maximum of 4 participants – to spend time with the family, or to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries in a fun way.

You can participate in the Escape Aboca Museum by choosing between two available versions, developed on different topics:
– The Queen of Antidotes: based on the theme of Theriac, the famous drug of the past used as a remedy against all ills
– The Recipes of Marie Fouquet: based on the figure of Marie Maupeou Fouquet, a revolutionary woman of the 17th century and author of one of the most famous books of secrets and remedies for healing
