The Museum houses a unique collection of dolls, created by various artists and presented as unrepeatable works. The exhibition was created with the primary objective of informing and educating. An unmissable stop for anyone interested in the history of toys and Italian craftsmanship

There are over fifty dolls kept inside the Museo Artistico della Bambola di Suvereto, a charming village in the Val di Cornia.
The dolls cover a time span that goes from the end of the nineteenth century to the 1980s and represent a journey through styles, costumes and materials that have characterized Italy in different historical periods

A surprising journey that, through the extraordinary Maria Micaelli Collection, tells the story of the evolution of costumes, styles and materials – from porcelain to biscuit, from rags to celluloid, together with felt, fabric and papier-mâché – illustrating some of the moments of the most recent Italian history
Of particular interest is the section dedicated to the dolls of Casa Lenci, a famous cloth factory founded in Turin in 1919, which created valuable artistic artefacts that became a real overseas commercial phenomenon in the 1930s and 1940s.
Violetta (1921), the symbolic doll of the museum, created by the famous Casa Lenci in Turin. It is inspired by the protagonist of La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi and is considered a masterpiece of art and craftsmanship.

Among the oldest examples, the Bamboli Sardi, a pair of dolls in traditional costume, with painted papier-mâché heads and padded cloth bodies, made towards the end of the 19th century.
Dolls of yesterday and today with a section dedicated to dolls from the 1950s made of rigid plastic and featuring moving eyes and “talking” devices.
