A journey into the underground heart of Tuscany
Difficulty: Discovery
Descent duration: 2.5 – 3.5 hours
Activity duration: 3.5 – 4.5 hours
Approach march: 20 minutes

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once the introductions have been made, we put on the wetsuit, harness and the rest of the equipment. Along the path in 20 minutes we will arrive at the entrance of the cave. Safety and activity briefing and off you go!
It is a single route, round trip.We will go up a small underground stream with small climbs and disclimbs. The temperature of the air and water fluctuates between 11 and 12 degrees centigrade.

At the highest point reachable for us, we will stop for a moment and then return. Your headlamp will give you colors and images that you will remember forever.
This cave is full of beautiful concretions, stalactites over 4 meters high.
We return along the same route, which in some sections we will not recognise, almost as if it were a different route.

SPELEOLOGY
Speleology (from the Greek spèlaion=cave and logos=discourse) is the science that studies karst phenomena or natural caves and cavities, their genesis and their nature.
Beyond its purely scientific aspect, speleology attracts a notable number of people who practice it as a sporting discipline, as a philosophy or even just for simple and healthy curiosity and fun!
The exploration of the subsoil is certainly one of the oldest human activities, in fact in prehistory, caves were used by man as a shelter from anything that could represent a danger.
