Extemporaneous poetry competition that takes place in a natural amphitheatre, under the fresh foliage of centuries-old chestnut trees on the first Sunday of August.
The sharp and irreverent poems that the poets compose for the event in memory of Boccabugia, born Iacopo Vanni, a nineteenth-century inhabitant of Vergemoli known for his biting dialectics, are characteristic.

The event starts in the morning, when the village of Vergemoli will be filled with stalls, food trucks and re-enactments of the ancient local crafts.
We will then continue at 3pm with the actual start of the competition and the simultaneous revelation of the theme.
The project aims to raise awareness of the event and the territory on a national scale, through an immersive experience in a unique event that will certainly spark the attention and curiosity of thousands of potential tourists.
