The green shades of its waters, which reflect the peaks of the Catinaccio and Latemar mountain ranges and the conifers that dot its banks, have earned it the nickname of Rainbow Lake.
On the Monguelfo plateau in the western Dolomites in Trentino 25 kilometers from Bolzano there is the small Lake Carezza, considered among the most beautiful in the area.
The kaleidoscope of colors of this lake ranges from green to blue, with pink and yellowish tones that give a unique impression even when its waters freeze in winter, creating a special play of reflections with the sun’s rays.
With an easy excursion of about 20 minutes around its banks you can admire panoramic views from different angles in search of the perfect shot and perhaps immortalize the mermaid who according to legends inhabits its waters.
