A natural Pool at your feet and Rainbows of light when the rays filter through the water mist. Ideal for hiking and walking, with trails winding through the valley and offering spectacular views.

The Zambel Waterfalls of Rio Cavallo, also known as the Calliano or Rio Cavallo waterfalls (from the name of the stream and the valley), are one of the easiest and most picturesque hikes in the Alpe Cimbra area, between Folgaria and Vallagarina.

They are also called “Zambel” due to a structure made of stone blocks that allowed the waters of the stream between Folgaria and Calliano to flow into the Adige River.

The surrounding area is ideal for families: there are sunny spots perfect for Picnics with barbecue facilities, a children’s Play area, and Swimming in the crystal-clear, though slightly cold, waters.

The route to reach them starts from the Castel Beseno parking lot and continues along a well-marked trail that passes through a wooded area with beautiful views of the Adige Valley.

After about 2 hours of walking with an elevation gain of about 200 meters, you reach the park where the waterfalls are located. They are modest in size but nestled in a very picturesque setting and rich in vegetation.
The access paths are convenient, with a particularly easy access route from below for families with children.
How to get there
– From Calliano: a comfortable Fairytale Trail, about 1.3 km long with an elevation gain of about 30 m, also suitable for families; the waterfalls reach the site in about an hour.

– From Castel Beseno: A panoramic circular hike of approximately 7.5 km, lasting approximately 2.5 hours and with an elevation gain of approximately 219 m, passes through woods and the gorge where the waterfall is located.
